Thomson Reuters Research in View is a hosted solution, eliminating additional hardware maintenance costs to universities and at the same time providing options to share data between institutions. The system incorporates and expands upon the faculty information management data schema and expertise from The Ohio State University’s OSU:pro, a Web-based application that delivers similar activity tracking features.

The system pulls data from University sources, faculty, and from external sources including the Web of ScienceSM. The data entry interface supports fielded and narrative data entry and may be customized by the university to meet specific reporting needs.
