ResearcherID® is your place to manage and share your researchers’ professional information. Administrators can solve author identity issues while simultaneously adding dynamic citation metrics and collaboration networks to the profiles of researchers across your department or institution.

  • Streamline bulk creation with data uploads to ResearcherID

How it works

Request Administrator access to ResearcherID. Once enabled, you can begin uploading and maintaining profiles for any ResearcherID account at your institution, provide proxy access to additional users, and more.

ResearcherID is more than an index for accurate author information and publication lists. With the new ResearcherID Web Services you can help busy researchers at your institution and increase visibility of their work by creating ResearcherID profiles for them and suggesting publication lists. Then use ResearcherID Download to track publication output and properly quantify research performance at your institution.

ResearcherID Upload

ResearcherID Upload

As a part of ResearcherID Web Services, ResearcherID Upload is a web-based service that enables administrators to mass create ResearcherID profiles and upload publication data for some or all of the accounts you create for faculty, researchers, etc. at your institution.

How it works:

  • Included in all ISI Web of Knowledge subscriptions, but freely available to anyone
  • Implemented and managed by authorized Technical Staff at institution (i.e. Technical Librarian, IT staff)
  • You must be registered in ResearcherID*
  • For account creation, the institution has the choice to inform the researcher themselves or have Thomson Reuters alert them that a profile has been created
  • For publication data, Thomson Reuters automatically sends an email to the researcher. The researcher can change this alerting in their profile preferences
  • All researchers have the option to maintain their own profile and publication list themselves

*Even if you are not a published researcher you still must be registered in the system to utilize this service.

ResearcherID Download

ResearcherID Download

With ResearcherID Download you can gather even more information about your researchers and their publishing performance to make strategic decisions for your institution. ResearcherID Download is a web-based service that enables you to query ResearcherID for researchers at your institution and return publication data for them, including times cited counts where applicable, as well as return institution affiliation for researchers at the requesting institution.

How it works:

  • Subscription-based service
  • Implemented and managed by authorized Technical Staff at institution (i.e. Technical Librarian, IT staff)
  • You must be registered in ResearcherID*
  • You need to have used ResearcherID Upload to be able to use ResearcherID Download

*Even if you are not a published researcher you still must be registered in the system to utilize this service.
